Ensemble Instruction
I love coaching ensembles! I can be found happily coaching ensembles ranging from duets to full orchestras and I often serve as an adjudicator for string festivals. When the need arose in the past for a youth orchestra in the Rogue Valley, I founded and conducted the Southern Oregon Youth Orchestra. Currently I focus on conducting the Second Street Musicians, a community string orchestra in the Rogue Valley.
Come join us! The Second Street Musicians are violin, viola, ’cello and double bass players of varying ages, backgrounds, and skill levels who come together in classes for ten weeks in the fall and ten weeks in the spring to share the challenges and camaraderie found in playing beautiful and interesting string orchestra music. We meet on Saturdays on Second Street at Trinity Church in Ashland. Classical music is our primary choice but we also find enjoyment in folk songs, show tunes, and alternative styles.
